If there have been any tweaks to the 4.4 branch to improve Windows Vistacompatibility, it might be worth back-porting them to the 4.2 branch.

Apart from that, there were a few post 4.2.2 changes made before the 4.2branch was originally abandoned (eg. there was a change that improvedthe keyboard behaviour on Windows 2000).
