Software scaling (and possibly rotation) routines are broken right now,
e.g. ex_membmp. Seems to be due to locking changes.

Message:
Trent has fixed ex_membmp. There may be other bugs lurking. Write an
example which tests software scaling and rotation (with blending and
without so both _fast and non-fast versions will be tested).
