The original changes to the audio code were just as large. It seems as is we
need the removed bits after all, and parts of the changed bits are broken in
subtle (or not so subtle) ways. So over the past few days in IRC a few
developers decided to resurrect the old code as a new addon. Its not like the
plain audio addon is being removed just yet. We'll have to see how the work on
kcm_audio goes.
