It should not be allowed to hold up 4.4.0.  Once the Mac changes are in,
we should release 4.4.0-rc1 and then 4.4.0 as soon as possible.
The door would still be open for anyone who actually cares to fix the
DOS ports for 4.4.1, or whatever.  Otherwise, there's always 4.2.2.
