Hi,

I noticed that there's a function to set the global volume, but none to get the current volume.  There's also no default volume mention in the documentation.  I'd love to see both.

There are get_volume() and get_hardware_volume() functions. These where
introduced in 4.2.1.

Most drivers set the volume to maximum value in install_sound().
