I did some testing on OS X. The system does actually send more repaint
events than I thought - not when the window is uncovered (or Expose'd)
but whenever it's moved.

If you ignore these requests, the contents are retained up to a point,
but they are lost if you minimize and restore.

So, I think Allegro has to respond to repaint events, because
everything except DOS and maybe Vista will send them.
