A rename is handled like any other change to a file. So if you merge
changes, and the changes include a file rename, also the file rename is
merged. If you merge only over revisions which had no file rename, then
you get no file name change.
And, I found at least 10 other reasons why I prefer SVN over CVS in the
bit I used it :)

Both would be ok I think. Gna and Berlios have SVN, so we could just
move the code to one of them (and keep web/downloads/ML at SF). Gna is
quite fast with registering in my experience (less than a day), Berlios
can take a while (based on 1 submission to each :P). But Gna would mean,
we would have SVN next week right after 4.2.0 is released :)
Otherwise, I think we should ask for the Subversion beta.
