There aren't really any good graphics backends left with drivers for
modern cards, limiting the usefulness of the port.  Unless someone knows
what they're doing, they probably only care about X.

I only hope you are not going to completely drop support for framebuffer
console. Some of our users find it useful for playing the game on
systems without X server installed (old laptop with small HDD for
example).

Anyway, old versions of allegro can be used in this case unless you have
plans for changing API :)
