Hardware cursor might be a bit of a misnomer. It's actually an OS cursor(though the OS usually does do it in hardware so it's not totallymis-named). Yes, it'll be faster since Allegro doesn't have to worryabout repeatedly drawing the cursor and avoiding mouse trails, and alsomakes it safer since Allegro won't have to draw in a timer.
