The general "policy" until now has been that new file formats, be it
graphics, audio or video, are best added to allegro in the form of an
add-on library. You could take a look at the "alogg" or "dumb" add-on
libraries for an example of how you could do this.
I think in add-on form, any new supported file format is good, so it
would probably be desirable. I don't know how many people use those
file formats, though.
