Yes, it fixed his problem
(http://www.allegro.cc/forums/view_thread.php?_id=333122#target). He
didn't say if he used Gimp or if other paint programs are affected as
well, but according to the specs, Allegro currently is saving 0-bit
alpha channels in TGAs, so Gimp sort of is correct to ignore it.
