[AD] Making makefile to spit out configuration information

Hi.

Here's a partially implemented patch to print the configuration
settings after running configure. Not complete, just to see if you
like it or know a better way to do it. In fact, I was changing
the file while running cvs update, and a few lines seem to have
'appeared' in it.
