dat2c now generates working code. I still hav to check dat2s.
I'll post the patch tomorrow, probably.

That is what I meant.
Do you have an argument other than you don't like it ? ;)
However, I do now prefer your solution, as it would get rid of
warnings in the generated C code (due to excess iniitalizers).
I'll probably post that bit in a week's time.
