I went ahead and commited it, because Stepan want to do some testing today.
Stepan, you only need to do 'misc/fixver.sh datestamp' now to set the
version string. You can check with readme.txt for example, it should read
4.1.0 (20020623) for example.
The directory to upload the snapshots to is:
