Compiled on IRIX 6.5, without problems.
Make clean works, patch functions OK.
A very quick test (demo, exquat, exalpha) shows the examples work.
My own othello program compiles and runs ok.
Expal gives me no output: a black screen is all I get. Nothing else
happens until the program ends after a few seconds, or when I press
escape. Could this have something to do with the changes to color
functions you guys were talking about?
Strange behaviour encountered: both demo and my othello complained
they couldn't open their datafile, only the first time they were
run. The second time, there was no problem. A second test with othello
(unpack archive, build, retry) gave no problem. Probably some quirk of
my system.
The output of 'make' while building allegro is at the following url:
http://www.icce.rug.nl/~hein/allegro/make.txt (100k)
It contains some (harmless) warnings about MIN being redefined,
etc. If someone is interested in fixing such warnings, this may be of
help.
Otherwise, release candidate 2 gets a green light for IRIX, with the
exception of expal which doesn't work.

Unix is user friendly. It's just very particular about who
it's friends are.
