Sure. Create your own branch in the new module if you want:
- check out a fresh module (allegro_new) or make sure you're up-to-date,
- create the branch: cvs tag -b your_branch_name.
As long as you don't explicitly resync with the head (cvs update -A) or use
the -r option, you're guaranteed to stay on your branch.
