Yes, you are right, the API is now totally non-blocking. I have
mentioned it at the top of the ever-so-slightly updated proposal.
Other changes to it included sorting out definition of AL_KEY_RELEASED
(now 0x10000, since we only define a 16-bit scancode space), and
updating it slightly because I also came up with a config API proposal
(or copied Shawn's, to be more precise :-) ).
