Could you wait a little more before releasing the 3.9.37 ?
Johan Peitz has pointed out a big bug in the Win32 joystick driver that
prevented it from working with multi-axis joysticks (bugs #225561 and
#432977 on SourceForge's tracker).
And I've also found some other minor bugs.
