[AD] Allegro new web page updated at repository

[ Thread Index | Date Index | More lists.liballeg.org/allegro-developers Archives ]

Hi.

There's a new module in the cvs containing the new Allegro webpage. You
can get it with the same commands you got the allegro cvs version, but
changing the name of the allegro module to allegrowww:

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@xxxxxxxxxx login
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@xxxxxxxxxx co allegrowww

At the moment there are things missing, like binary files or external
online documentation, and many other little details listed in the todo
file. However, I would like you to get a look at it (you can use the test
version at http://alleg.sourceforge.net/allegro/new/) and point out
missing functionality found in the old Allegro page and/or criticise it.
It would be better to find bugs now than in a few months, especially those
not listed in the todo file.

This doesn't go only for the outlook, if you can, please take a look at
the way of updating the web page, the problems of mirroring the page (if
you were going to do it), etc. After all, when somebody (looking at Peter
now :) releases a new Allegro wip or whatever, he/she might have to update
the web page too, and it should be a painless step in each release.

The former web translators of the Allegro web page have been contacted and
informed about the new system to coordinate translations. If however
somebody new wants to help with the translation of the web page to some
other language, please contact me privately.

Hopefully the web will be available arount middle/end of august, when it
will be announced publicly to the Allegro community and massively
betatested before replacing the actual web page in all of it's mirrors.
