Yes it did. The screensaver now uses that to shutdown when it is switched
out.

That's a good question !
Afaics, the feature was already in the 3.9.32 release. What may be at first
confusing in the Win32 API is that you must process the WM_ACTIVATE message
to catch the switch out (WA_INACTIVE) event !
