Hmm, this patch isn't great for vesafb users (assuming they aren't
already in 320x200x256). Would it be better to set a GFX_SAFE mode,
let users pick an 256 colour mode, set that mode then continue (i.e.
show intro, pick animation type, ...)? The intro is delayed, but
might be better for other framebuffer users also (one mode switch
instead of two).
