TL;DR: Both students and mentors, please fill in this form ASAP so
that we can find a time slot for a short IRC meeting:

Hi dear GSoC students (and mentors),
Congrats for being selected for our first GSoC!
We had over 50 proposals and a limited number of slots, so the final
selection was quite difficult, but we are really thrilled about your 5
projects!
As you know from Google emails, the Coding work will start on May
14th, and until then is the Community Bonding period. For this, I will
ask you to do the following so that we can bond :)
## IRC: #godotengine-devel
Join the #godotengine-devel IRC channel on Freenode - that's where
most developers hang out and where technical discussions happen
(together with GitHub issues of course). You can also use Matrix [0]
if you prefer, which has the advantage that you'll have a persistent
login (albeit its Matrix-IRC can be a bit slow). On Matrix the bridged
channel is #devel:godotengine.org.
If not using Matrix but you have access to an IRC bouncer or any
service that would let you be always connected (even when not
physically in front of your IRC client), that's good to take as it
lets you check past history and whether people wanted to talk to you.
## Mailing list: devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Please register to the devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx mailing list [1]. It's
not used much as most discussions happen on IRC or GitHub, but it's
still the simplest way to contact all devs by email, and we use it
among other things to schedule IRC meetings.
Note that emails from that mailing list may end up in your Spam inbox
(including the registration emails), so make sure to whitelist it to
prevent that.
Note that there is also the private mailing list
gsoc-mentors@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx which goes to all Godot GSoC mentors -
anyone can write to it even without being registered, so feel free to
if you need to contact all for some mentors.
You can also write to gsoc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx if you want to contact org
admins directly (Juan / reduz, Ariel / punto, George / vnen, Andreas /
Hinsbart and me).
## Timezone
Please reply to this email to tell me your timezone, and if possible
times where you might be usually available for an IRC meeting. We use
UTC as reference [2].
My timezone is CEST / UTC+2 (Copenhagen, Denmark), I'm usually online
from 5:30 UTC to 16:00 UTC, and a couple times a week on evenings too
(17:00 UTC to 20:30 UTC or so).
## First IRC meeting
I'd like to have a first IRC meeting during the Bonding period with
all students and mentors (as far as possible), so that we can present
ourselves and have a very short introduction to your topics (you don't
need to prepare anything, just explain what your project is about in a
few lines).
For this we need to find a time slot that would be convenient for
everyone, which is usually impossible, so let's try to find one which
is not too inconvenient for most :)
Please answer this poll ASAP so that we can find a time slot:

Cheers!
