So I added the offset and am now getting this. Does this mean I’m successfully synced to the PPS since the NTP is selectable (by the ‘-‘) but is instead syncing to the PPS? So it appears that chrony can only sync to one thing and not both (a ref clock and a server). Does it syncing to my PPS mean that its getting the time/date from the ntp, but the seconds from the PPS? Also, I did notice that occasionally it appears I am losing synchronization to the server/refclock by the following image: Is this because I have the polling be too fast? Do you know what could be causing this? Thank you for all your help. I sincerely appreciate it. -----Original Message----- On Mon, Nov 02, 2020 at 12:24:32PM +0000, Chang, Benjamin wrote: > The PPS signal is coming from the NTP server (it's a syncserver S650) and is connected via a 232 line. I set an offset of .00002 for the PPS? Yes, that should make two sources agree with each other. Or, you can add the opposite correction to the NTP source. Without a trusted time source it's difficult to tell which one is more accurate. If you enabled hardware timestamping,
I'd probably trust more the NTP source. -- Miroslav Lichvar -- To unsubscribe email
