Don’t be surprised, I enabled it by default on Debian Buster (our next stable version). :o

I consider enabling it by default on Fedora, but without an automatic
reporting of the crashes I wasn't sure if people would actually notice
that chronyd is not running and report bugs. It may take few weeks
before the RTC/system clock drifts so much that one would investigate
what's wrong.

At the moment, the reports I had seem to touch only the most confidential architectures (e.g. i386, ARMv5), some of them probably not supported anymore on some distros.
