No need to be so dismayed :-) About 50% of our (slitaz.c3sl.ufpr.br)
slitaz traffic is from the US. We reach Miami at about 1Gb/s and in a
few weeks this will bump to several Gb/s, so Americans will have a
fast mirror even if it's far away.
I'm sure other European mirrors are in the same situation.
I wish I could visit osuosl like you... :-)
