Hi all,
What about a new Cooking tomorow evening ?
This will let us time to translate the attached announcment, prepare
the website and
fix any critical bug.
I updated the rolling ISO and I may updated it again in a few hours so
you can boot it and
report any bugs:

On my side I will fix Xorg... If I boot with 'nomodeset' I got to the
desktop but with wrong
resolution. Without nomodset I got a text mode prompt but if I login
and then 'startx' I have
a desktop with correct resolution! This mean X is started too early in
boot process (a trick
I did for 4.0) so I will start X later, users my get to the desktop 2-3
second longer but will
have more chance to get it rater than a text mode prompt!
Regards,
- Christophe
The Slitaz team is proud to announce the release of a new Cooking version
witch pave the road to SliTaz 5.0. This new Cooking include almost 2 years
of work and have an incredible ChangeLog. All our home made tools where
improved with some great new tools such as 'frugal' or 'decode'. We focused
our work on the Desktop integration to provide a fine use experience and
we largely improved the Linux Kernel (3.2.53) configuration.
On the packages side we updated all existing packages and we add a bunch
of new packages to reach more than 4200 packages in the Cooking database.
Lots of work have also been done on the SliTaz installer witch provide a
new Ncurses/text front-end.
The LiveCD will now ask for languages settings before booting so you users
will get directly to the Desktop after boot scripts have been executed.
The size of the ISO image have grown a little do to better harware support
and new functions. You can download the ISO image from SliTaz mirror:
