While a virus scan is always a good idea, have a look at
the IP addresses from where the spam mails have been send:
I checked the mail headers and asked 'geoiplookup' about
the countries, the addresses belong to:
$ geoiplookup 89.135.111.198
GeoIP Country Edition: HU, Hungary
$ geoiplookup 83.6.89.163
GeoIP Country Edition: PL, Poland
$ geoiplookup 187.4.18.27
GeoIP Country Edition: BR, Brazil
So in case David is *not* traveling around the world, the
spam mails have *not* been sent from his machine.
David, please change your yahoo password! And, even more
important, change all your accounts where you're using
the same username/password pair! As far as I can tell
the whole issue is a result of people using the same
username/password on several different services.
