It's not ignored. It's not "read".

I let the login manager change the resolution.

For GDM I modified "/etc/gdm/Init/Default".

And added the line "xrandr --size 1024x768 --rate 85".

For LXDM you need to modify "/etc/lxdm/LoginReady".

And for LightDM/SLiM I don't know.
