Ah yes, as you surely found out SawfishConfig now offers some buttons.

If the 'Edit RC' button doesn't open ~/sawfish{rc,/rc} for you, then do the following on console

xdg-mime default geany.desktop text/plain

(assuming 'geany.desktop' is application's desktop file in /usr/share/applications/, choose yours).
