I'm using eix-sync which always shows reference to layman and proaudio overlay, but I don't see libffado-2.1.0. Does that seem right? I'm pretty sure I've got layman and proaudio set up right, I've merged plenty of stuff from there.

All you should need to do is update the overlay checkout (layman -s
pro-audio) then emerge libffado.
