I got it! It works perfectly:D\o/ Thank you so much. God bless you all. Proaudio rocks my world. My god it's good to be alive. This is the best setup I've ever laid my hands on.
I can start...
$ jackd -m -dfirewire -r48000 -p64 -n2 -o2
... thats a latency of 2.67 msec
... running ...
PianoTeq4 +
TAL-Noismaker +
Zynaddsubfx...
simultaneously...
NO ... X ... RUNS ... AT ... ALL!
PERFECT! FLAWLESS! I can hardly believe it. I don't know how I'm going cope with elation.
I'm affraid though, on a darker note. I don't fully understand what my problem was.
Pyhon is everywhere! Or so it is said. I am sure that is source of my derision. I can feel it.
It's writhing mass intertwining my shared objects, aiding me one moment, then taunting the next.
I digress...
I don't think the process I went through will be of much use to anyone, but I guess the first thing to do is:
1 - Determin which firewire kernel stack you have and configure it's sources the appropriately.
2 - Install jujuutils(not necessary I guess, but will reassure that your the device is there with lsfirewire, even if nothing works:)source:http://code.google.com/p/jujuutils/downloads/list
3 - Install compatible version of libffado >1.0.1 for the new juju stack, or <=1.0.1 for older 1394 stack. Source:http://ffado.org/?q=node/5:)
4 - With device plugged and powered run:
ffado-test Discover
and you may be informed that the device firmware needs updating. You will have to install Saffire Mix Control(2.4 worked for me) in MacOSX or M$ and run to do so. unsource:http://global.focusrite.com/downloads?product=Saffire+PRO+24
5 - Install recent jackd (with firewire support if necessary)
That should be all that is necessary I think in a sane environment. Run jackd with the firewire driver.
With eternal gratitude adoration
