is defined in my system. also i have the /etc/locale.gen file like this:
en_US ISO-8859-1
en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
and i run the locale-gen afterwards.
i don't know why it is copying the "de" locale if i set it to "en". i
think it may be a problem
of codepage, so the german translation file is read with a wrong codepage.
i can't find a way to fix this anyway, unless i delete the translation
file in the ebuild
src_unpack stage (which doesn't sound like a good fix anyway).
