A little testing:
* sandbox-1.3.9: works
* sandbox-1.4: works
* sandbox-1.6: breaks

Also the compile until it hangs takes _a lot_ longer with sandbox-1.6

So, for those that want to test jack2:

echo "=sys-apps/sandbox-1.6" >> /etc/portage/package.mask

or

FEATURES="-sandbox" emerge jack-audio-connection-kit

might also work, and avoids the downgrade.


I prefer to keep jack-1.9.x hardmasked in general, as it is testing
stuff and forcing an upgrade on all overlay users is not what we really
want. So for all that like to test jack2:

echo "media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit" \
	>> /etc/portage/package.unmask
