no what i mean is that on my previous machine i was able to load the snd-echo3g kernel
module correctly (alsa-1.0.14-r1) since the card was not sharing any irq, and it had the 9 IRQ.
now on my new pc i have those cards sharing a lot more IRQs, and some of those IRQs are > 15 !
i can compile alsa-1.0.14-r1 without error, but loading the kernel module it will produce FIRMWARE
errors, like "unable to load firmware with error -5", or "firmware failed on handshake", thus making
the kernel module unusable. i suppose the only changes are those IRQ sharing, or wrong IRQ
numbers... what could i do ?

is normal that there are IRQ > 15 ?

ciao

What do you mean exactly with that?
You aren't able to build the alsa-firmware package? Did you specify the
right ALSA_CARDS (I don't think there is another variable for the
alsa-firmware package) variable on your make.conf?
Does dmesg complain about something wrong with your card on boot time?
