Hi,

As can be seen from the above output, your Hatari config uses the 2nd

Please see my attached configuration. Which setting in this config file
are you referring to?

Based on the Hatari output you posted, this:
-----
szHardDiskDirectory = /home/us/TT
-----

Points to a directory that contains only subdirectories with single
letter names (from "c" to "i") i.e. drive / partition ID overrides.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what do I have to do in order to have a
GEMDOS drive for each subdirectory without overriding anything?

You need to specify GEMDOS HD drive letters that do not overlap with partitions on your configured drive images.

Multi-drive GEMDOS HD support itself is a niche use-case, to make it easier to test multi-drive support in file managers (e.g. desktops), and to duplicate multi-drive desktop setups from original machines.

Coupling that with images is much more niche, one where user is expected to know what drives GEMDOS HD partitions should use...

Remember also that you can have multiple Hatari configs for different setups (one for ST, one for TT, one for Falcon, one to duplicate you original desktop, one for HD Driver testing etc). Just give Hatari a different config file with "-c" option from command line, or put those into desktop shortcuts...
