There is no stock Falcon with Fast-RAM, so TOS simply does not support this. 
So if you configure TT RAM for your emulated Falcon, Hatari has to patch 
those variables for you. With real hardware CPU accelerators that support 
Fast-RAM (Mighty Sonic), I assume that the driver software is doing that, too.
