well "*** spam ***" was added to your mail subject, but I don't see why 
it would be google that added it. The mailing list is not handled by 
gmail and I also see this "Spam" in the subject.

So, I would say that at one point the mail you received from hatari ML 
had "*** Spam ***" added into its subject (maybe by your email provider 
?) and when you replied the word "*** Spam ***" remained in your mail.
