Hi,

Does anybody have any idea about the possible reasons why MIDI from Hatari would be _consistently_ too slow on some setups:

?

Hi

I saw this thread, but I don't really know what could cause this. I barely use midi myself, so I can't compare with my own experience. On the other hand some users are reporting correct MIDI when using hatari.

So,
 - either his setup is too slow somehow and he needs a more powerful PC,
- or there's an issue with some of the libs he uses on his RPi5 that creates problem when writing to the emulated midi port - or there's a very specific use of the acia register at fffc04/06 that would not be correctly emulated (there were some very low level timings fixed a long time ago to make 'Notator' works, but since then no one reported any problem). And the problem was it was loosing some bytes, not playing everything too slow.

What could be interesting would be to run the same test as he does but on a "normal" Linux PC and see if the same slow down can be observed, (with someone doing this test having a midi setup known to work correctly already with Hatari)
