Hello

a new Hatari version 1.8.0 has just been released. You can get it from http://hatari.tuxfamily.org/ or directly in http://download.tuxfamily.org/hatari/

Sources are of available, as well as prebuilt binaries for Windows (in 32 bit and 64 bit mode) and OSX.

Thanks to all the people who contributed to this version with code, ideas, bug reports.

This version marks a special spot for demos' lovers, as it will run "The Union Demo", one of the best demos ever released for the Atari STF.

This demo was not supported until now, due to a very special disk format, but after a lot of improvements to the FDC emulation, Hatari is now able to handle STX files, using our own open source support for the Pasti format, as well as IPF/CTR files on any OS (using caps library).

So, enjoy "The Union Demo" and all the games in STX format !

Brief changelog :
- Huge improvements to the FDC emulation : timings, status bits, undocumented behaviour, configurable RPM, support for single or double sided drive, improved DMA transfers' accuracy, interrupt on index, ... - Add support for STX files on any OS (no dll required), as well as support for IPF/CTR files created with the Kryoflux board (using the open source caps library) The STX support also adds an exclusive new format .wd1772 to save writes made to an STX file, which means games can save high scores for example - Some various fixes to the video emulation for demos that were not correctly emulated yet - Many changes to the CPU related to prefetch (used in many games' protection) and simultaneous interrupts. - Some fixes to STE sound (microwire and LMC) and to Falcon sound (although some bugs remain)
 - Some fixes to Gemdos HD emulation : clip filenames, autostart
- Some fixes to ASCI HD : larger image, improve some commands and better handling for unsupported ones
 - Some fixes to the IKBD emulation
- Changes to the UI : 2nd line of information at the bottom, better performances under SDL, more options in some screens. - For developpers : more Natfeats commands, better tracing of OS calls (bios, xbios, ...), many additions to the debugger (too numerous, see the doc)
