Just one more precision: here we only discussed use of the costs for 
ei_nested.

There remains the use to determine whether to unroll. Since we found that the 
cost is approximately proportional to code size. Here, it matters much more 
to have a rough estimate of the cost, not just to know if it's 1 or >1.
