The bits worth noting for us is
- brltty 4.2
- speakup 3.1.5
- Orca 2.30.2
- sounds events enabled by default in gdm so you know when you're at the
login prompt
- accessibility enabled by default in gdm and the first user when
installing with brltty or speakup enabled.
- software speech is not yet available in the official images, but
http://people.debian.org/~sthibault/espeakup/ has it, please test!
I hope to get that integrated into the standard images for Wheezy.
- I also hope that grub at least gets more accessible. Squeeze has an
option to enable beep at the boot menu entry, we should quite easily
get varying beeps depending on the select entry. We might get braille
and/or pre-synthesized speech support for squeeze.
