Initial Comment:
When enable gdiplus image loader in a lua c module will cause freeze when exit.

Steps:
1. Install lua for windows 	LuaForWindows_v5.1.4-40.exe from http://code.google.com/p/luaforwindows/downloads/list
2. Build the attached visual studio 2008 solution.
3. Run the test_iio.lua (double click or run `lua test_iio.lua')
4. The console windows will freeze.

Can you attach the allegro.log? And do you have debugger tracebacks for all
the threads when in the frozen state?
