And also http://www.allegro.cc/forums/thread/592305From what I remembered, at first, everyone was gravitating towards using the logo with Alex the Aligator, but then Johan Peitz mentioned that the copyright situation was somewhat ambiguous so other ideas had to be found. Although many proposals were put forward, we couldn't come to much of a consensus as to which one to choose. After that, much of the discussion centred on trying to convince the Allegro developers to agree to endorse whatever logo-proposal was agreed upon, without actually having agreed on one first, while not much discussion on which logo to agree on. In the end, everyone got fed up of the discussion, but a page on the Allegro Wiki was made showing off the proposals we had come up with so far - http://wiki.allegro.cc/index.php?title=Mascot_discussion (and also http://wiki.allegro.cc/index.php?title=Community_logos for banners) (BTW there is another page of logo-proposals on the Allegro Sourceforge page at http://alleg.sourceforge.net/logos.html ). Since then, not much has happened.
BTW I agree with what others have said about the musical version of Armin's logo. Seeing that 'Allegro' is already a musical term, using a musical logo will mislead people into thinking that the scope of the lbrary only involves music.
