ex_lines doesn't draw lines. I think I've also seen lines missing elsewhere, but that could be just me.

Ok, I can reproduce it with compositing as well. I'll look at it.

For me, on Ubuntu, it does not draw the lines with compositing on, but does
draw with compositing off. I think this is new though, since I think it
used to work fine before with compositing on.
