A few random things I noticed:

* -mtune=pentium
    Maybe we should bump it or delete it.

* -fomit-frame-pointer
    Really impedes debugging so maybe delete it.

* make -j2 install
    Doesn't work.

* We install ex*.3 man pages, which seems silly.
