Ah, gmail somehow delayed half of the mails, so I replied first to the
commits list. I also used the debug build, with release I get (core2
Q6600 2.40GHz):
Using (int)x as float conversion:
Time = 0.497816 s, FPS = 602.632
Using current SVN:
Time = 0.544217 s, FPS = 551.251
So I guess current SVN is best, it's about 10% slower on HW which is
fast anyway, but a lot faster on slow HW - so in total better to use the
float conversion trick.
