It compiles now on OS X but it needs tidy-up (and there will be some
conflicts to fix after your 4.3 merge)

My code seems to be generating events correctly, but the mouse doesn't
actually work (i.e. the mouse cursor doesn't move in the test program)
Should it? I'm assuming that the compatibility layer is functional.
