It's not quite as strongly worded as I remember, more "it's
sufficient" than "it's recommended". But, will it be necessary to
limit the rate of events coming from a device - say an analogue stick
could generate a whole lot of essentially irrelevant events if it
sends one for each detectable position change.

It's "having to" rather than "wanting to", dictated by the hardware.
What's your opinion on the best way to do it in DirectInput, AJ?
