Summary: allegro-config --libs problem

Hi
I am running Mandrake Linux 9.1 and have installed
Allegro to my home drive
the installation went well
the problem is when I run
gcc exgui.c -o exgui 'allegro-config --libs'
gives the following error
allegro-config -- libs no such file or diectory
can you please help
