If I remember correctly, the key repeat rate of X11 was switched off
globally, so for _all_ programs. That is of course very undesirable,
as you won't be able to use a simple editor properly while an allegro
program is running.

I'm not sure if it is possible to turn off the key repeat for a single
X11 program.
